Hi, I’m Carol Kneedler, the owner of O3 Consulting.
I enjoy bringing my best to the projects I take on. I am a “practical perfectionist.” I value long-term relationships and understand the importance of reputation and character for helping create a fulfilling life.
Thanks to years of corporate and consulting, I have experienced working with a variety of businesses and non-profits. I understand that one size does not fit all and the importance of asking good questions, listening to answers and really hearing clients’ needs and goals. I work diligently to understand and empathize with my clients’ unique needs and provide solutions that fit them.
What’s next?
Facilitation and Organizational Development
In the summer of 2022, I took a series of classes with the xChange organization. The class was all about what I’ll call meta-communication – the how of running facilitation meetings, both online and in person. I recognized a next step toward my interest in facilitating and supporting growth in organizations, which started in the 90s in business settings and was deepened by work with my church and other community organizations over the years.
A little history
I have over 30 years’ experience planning, managing and implementing website and software projects.
After graduation, I worked as a programmer supporting financial services divisions, first at Franklin Life Insurance Company (now American General) and then at Prudential Home Mortgage (now Wells Fargo).
I completed a Master’s in Computer Science from the University of Illinois at Springfield with a focus on usability and testing while at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, IL, where I created an intranet-based workflow system. The focus on usability planning and user group testing, which has long been an interest of mine, made this project especially enjoyable, and I like to think that is part of the reason the system was in use for many years.
Before starting my own business, I managed an 18-person website development team at a Springfield, IL consulting firm for seven years and also did web database and application design and development, information architecture and usability, and security analysis and planning for web-based applications.
O3 Internet Consulting
From 2007 through 2023, as O3 Internet Consulting, I provided websites, mostly WordPress, and other internet marketing services to non-profit organizations and businesses. I loved doing that. Many of my clients and colleagues became friends and I truly appreciate their support and their confidence in me and the work of my team.
My team and I focused mostly on developing websites using the WordPress content management system. We also provided content creation services, email marketing, social media marketing, search engine optimization (SEO), hosting and technical support.
I’ve been fortunate and grateful to have worked with a great bunch of web designers, web developers, advertising consultants, and computer/networking companies over the years.
